Modify Outlook 2013

The purpose of this page is to describe how an existing email account may be modified to work with OlympusNet email servers.

  1. Click File, and select Info in the left navigation margin.

  2. After clicking on Info in the margin, hover over Account Settings on the right and click on Account Settings below it, as shown in the screenshot below.

  3. Click to highlight your email account (in the example below (janedoe@olympus.net) and then click the Change button immediately above it.

  4. Follow the text below for the appropriate settings for your account entered in the fields marked by red rectangles in the screenshot below.
    1. For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
      1. For both Email Address and for User Name beneath Logon Information, enter your full email address (janedoe@olympus.net)
      2. Enter mail.userservices.net in both the Incoming mail server and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) fields.
      3. Click Next when finished.
    2. For email in your own domain (sally@example.com):
      1. For both Email Address and for User Name beneath Logon Information, enter your full email address (sally@example.com).
      2. Enter mailc11.megamailservers.com in both the Incoming mail server and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) fields. Click Next when finished.

  5. Outlook may verify your settings; click Finish when it is done.
  6. If you are receiving email but cannot send email, follow steps 1-4 to access the settings, and then click the More Settings button (screenshot immediately above shows the button). Click the Outgoing Server tab to be sure outgoing authentication is checked, as the screenshot below shows.

  7. Click the Advanced tab to access SSL and port options. Note options for Outgoing Server:
    1. If the Encrypted Connection option is TLS, use Port 587.
