Introduction

Android phones vary widely between manufacturers and models. Thus their setups vary widely.

Below we offer three choices for manually setting up Android phones.

Setup Choice 1

Accessing Accounts to add an email account is the detail that varies the most. Consult the User’s Manual for your specific device.

The Settings option may have Accounts, Account Settings, or Email. Look at each for adding an email account.

The following settings will be needed once you’ve found the way to add the email account.

  1. Watch for Manual Setup and select it early in the setup.
  2. If you tried to set up the Android once before and missed this step, you may need to delete the account and start over.
  3. Use the following settings:
Email address or Username: use the full email address.
OlympusNet email password (call if you aren’t sure.)
    Email type: IMAP
    Incoming and Outgoing Server Name:
       olympus.net email: mail.userservices.net
       Domain email: mailc11.megamailservers.com
Security Type: SSL (Use All Certificates). If that is not available, SSL, SSL/TLS, or TLS are all fine.
Ports for IMAP: Incoming 993, Outgoing 465
Authentication: Password (Used only for Incoming)
On some models, the Outgoing server has the option, Require Sign-in. Select the box if it comes up.

Setup Choice 2

If Setup Choice 1 doesn’t work, try this one.
How to configure an E-mail account manually in Samsung Smartphones?

Step 2d: email id is your email address.
Step 3e: select IMAP.
Step 4h: the secure mail server is mail.userservices.net
    or for domain customers: mailc11.megamailservers.com
Step 4i the port number for IMAP is 993.
Step 5k: the port number for SMTP is 587.
Step 6n: You may not want to be notified every time an email arrives.

Once you’ve entered these settings, your phone will verify that it can connect to the mail server. Using your phone, send an email to yourself to confirm that it’s set up correctly.

As we mentioned earlier, Android setups vary widely. Following is an alternate Samsung setup.

Setup Choice 3

If Setup Choices 1 and 2 don’t work, try this one.
