Windows 7 may come with Windows Live Mail already installed. Windows Live Mail is outdated and Microsoft no longer offers a download, as of 2017.

Set Up Windows Live Mail
The purpose of this page is to describe how to set up a new email account to work with OlympusNet email servers.

  1. Open Windows Live Mail by clicking Start, All Programs, Windows Live, Windows Live Mail.
  2. If this is the first time you have started the program, the mail setup wizard will automatically start. Alternatively, click the Accounts tab and then click the Email button on the left.

  3. Enter your OlympusNet or domain email address (e.g., janedoe@olympus.net or sally@example.com) in the Email address field and the password in the Password field.
  4. Verify that the Remember this password checkbox is checked.
  5. Enter your real name as you would like it to be displayed on sent mail (e.g., Jane Doe) in the Display Name field.
  6. Check the checkbox Manually configure server settings as shown marked by the red rectangle, and click Next.

  7. Verify that the option POP3 appears in the field reading Server Type. Advanced users may use IMAP, if desired.
  8. Follow the text below for the appropriate settings for your account entered in the fields marked by red rectangles in the screenshot below.
    1. For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
      • Enter mail.userservices.net in the Server address fields under both Incoming and Outgoing server information.
    2. For email in your own domain (sally@example.com):
      • Enter mailc11.megamailservers.com in the Server address fields for both Incoming and Outgoing server information.
    3. For both account types:
      • The checkbox Requires a secure connection (SSL) should be checked under both Server address fields.
      • Authenticate using should be set to Clear Text.
      • The Logon user name must be the full email address.
      • Under the Outgoing server address only, the port should be changed from 25 to 587. The default port set by the email program for the incoming server is fine.
      • Both checkboxes should be checked under the Outgoing server address.
      • Select Next when all entries are complete.

  9. Select Next and then Finish.
