Modify Windows Live Mail (Post 2012)
The purpose of this page is to describe how an existing email account may be modified to work with OlympusNet email servers.
- With Windows Live Mail open, right click on your OlympusNet account using your right mouse button and select Properties.
- Click on the Servers tab. Follow the text below for the appropriate settings for your account entered in the fields marked by red rectangles in the screenshot below.
- For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
- Enter mail.userservices.net in both the Incoming mail (POP3) and i Outgoing mail (SMTP) fields.
- Beneath Incoming Mail Server, for Email Username, enter your full email address (janedoe@olympus.net).
- The checkbox should be checked beside My server requires authentication. Click Apply when finished.
- For email in your own domain (sally@example.com):
- Enter mailc11.megamailservers.com in both the Incoming Mail (POP3) and the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) fields.
- Beneath Incoming Mail Server, for Email Username enter your full domain email address (sally@example.com).
- The checkbox should be checked beside My server requires authentication. Click Apply when finished.
- For olympus.net email (janedoe@olympus.net):
- If send or receive fails after making the changes above, return to Step 1 to access the settings, and then click on the Advanced tab. The screenshot below shows the appropriate settings. Click Apply if any changes are made.
