Setup iOS 16-17 Email

The purpose of this page is to describe how to set up an OlympusNet email account on an iOS device.
If you’ve earlier set up an account and run into problems or need to make changes to an existing account, go to Change iOS 16-17 Email Settings.
The instructions below are for an iPhone.

The email setup for iPads is similar to iPhones.

Domain customers use username@your-domain.com wherever janedoe@olympus.net appears.

  1. Select the Settings icon in the Home screen, then select Mail.
    Settings

  2. Select Accounts.
    Mail

  3. In the Accounts dialog box, select Add Account.
    Accounts

  4. In the Add Account dialog box, select Other.
    Add Account

  5. In this second Add Account dialog box, select Add Mail Account.
    Add Account

  6. In the New Account dialog box, enter your name, email address, password, then select Next.
    New Account

  7. In the second New Account dialog box, enter the fields for the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers.
All of the fields are required; none are optional.
The Incoming and Outgoing Host Name for username@olympus.net is: mail.userservices.net.
The Incoming and Outgoing Host Name for username@your-domain.com is: mailc11.megamailservers.com.
Tip: If you plan to set up more than one account, use the Description field to give each a different name.
For example, for a two account setup, the first account might be Described Olympus janedoe with a second account named Olympus johndoe.
    Select Next.
The device will attempt to connect to both Incoming (IMAP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
    New Account

  8. If the verification succeeded, a dialog box titled IMAP appears showing that the device is correctly set up for IMAP with Mail enabled. Select Save. A dialog box titled Account Added then pops up and quickly disappears, replaced by the Accounts dialog box. Return to the the Home screen, select Mail then send an email from and to this device to verify that mail is working.
  9. If the verification failed, check for typos in both the Incoming and Outgoing sections in the New Account dialog box.
If there are no typos, retype the password in both sections, and select Next again.
If the error Cannot Connect Using SSL appears, select Yes to continue. Enabling SSL is important as it encrypts the connection between your desktop and the mail server. Set it up later in Change iOS 16-17 Email Settings.
Return to the Home screen by selecting Next, then Save.
Correct errors at any time at Change iOS 16 Email Settings.
  10. Consider enabling Mail Privacy Protection. Apple explains it at Use Mail Privacy Protection on iPhone.
