1. We do not provide tech support for all smart phones owing to the variety of versions. If the following instructions don’t help, call the organization where you bought the phone for additional help or turn to the user’s manual.
  2. If you are modifying the settings and your mail has been working up to now on POP, leave the account set to POP. If you are setting it up for the first time, IMAP is recommended for small portable devices if you have a computer that normally gets the same email.
  3. If the account was set up using a method other than manual configuration, you may not be able to edit the settings required for OlympusNet. In that case, disabling the account (if it was set up in POP the first time), or deleting the account and then recreating it is the best option.
  4. From the Droid Home Screen or while viewing the message list, tap the Menu icon directly to the left of the Home icon, then tap Account settings. In other versions of Android, start by going into phone settings by pressing the Settings button/application on your Android device.
  5. In the Settings section select Accounts & Sync. 
Select the account to be modified.
  6. The following options are available:
    1. Incoming settings (to modify IMAP or POP3 server settings)
    2. Outgoing settings (to modify SMTP server settings)

Incoming settings

  1. Click the account button
  2. For Username, enter your full email address, example: or and the email Password.
  3. The username MUST be the full email address. If the account is already established and you cannot edit the Username to the full email address, it may be necessary to remove the account and create it over again using Manual configuration.
  4. Enter the server or host name.

  5. The default POP3 incoming port number is 995 with SSL The default IMAP port is 993 if using SSL
  6. Click on Security type. A new window will pop up which allows you to select the level of encryption. Select Security type SSL accept all certificates. If it is not an option use SSL/TSL, accept all certificates. Do not use None. Once the Security type has been selected, the popup window will close and you can continue to the next step.
  7. Set Authentication: Password
  8. If using POP3 [IMAP is preferred on a phone!], under Advanced, Select when to delete email from server. The options are Never or When I delete from Inbox. When I delete from inbox will remove the mail from the server and it will not be available to download on any other device. If you also check mail on a computer at home or office, you should select Never so the mail will be available on the other device. You may need to configure your computer email program to save on server for a few days or week as well to have the mail available on both devices. Tap Next.

Outgoing Settings

  1. Enter the outgoing SMTP host or server name.

  2. Select Port 587. (Port 465 is OK.)
  3. Select Security type SSL accept all certificates; if that fails use Auto if it is an option.
  4. Authentication: NONE
  5. The outgoing or SMTP server DOES require you to log in so you must check the box next to Require sign-in.
  6. Enter your full email address for username ( example: or and your email password.
  7. Tap the Next button. Be sure your settings are saved.
  8. Select email checking frequency and notification options. Email will begin synchronizing once the credentials and server information are entered correctly. The menu icon gives you more options which include refresh, compose, folders, accounts and account settings.
